Washburn Building Upgrades

• AHUs – Air handling units; a device used to condition and circulate air as part of a heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning system.
• CO2 – Carbon dioxide; Carbon dioxide is an important greenhouse gas, warning the Earth’s surface to a higher temperature by reducing outward radiation.
• Cx – Commissioning; documented verification that the fundamental building systems and components are designed, installed, and are performing as intended in accordance with the basis of design, the owners project requirements, and to meet current needs and sustainable requirements.
• DHW -  Domestic hot water; water used in any type of building for domestic purposes such as drinking and personal hygiene. It does not include space heating.
• ERU – Energy recovery unit; HVAC unit that exchanges the energy contained in normally exhausted building or space air and uses it to treat (precondition) the incoming outdoor ventilation air.
• HVAC – Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; the technology of indoor and automotive environmental comfort.
• kWh – Kilowatt hour; a billing unit for energy delivered to consumers by electric utilities.
• MMBtu – Million metric British thermal unit; a standard measurement of energy consumption.
• MUA – Make-up air unit; a larger air handler that conditions 100% outside air, and no recirculated air.
